Aditya Dalmia is Managing Director of Dalmia Polypro Industries (Dalmia), a market-leading, sustainability-focused plastic recycling company that produces high-quality recycled materials from local PET and Polyolefin waste for reuse in fashion, consumer, and industrial packaging applications. One of India’s major plastic recyclers, Dalmia is leading the way in the development of food-grade applications in the market.

With a background in textile engineering, trade and distribution, Aditya early in India to recognise the opportunity in transforming plastic waste into value, founding Dalmia as a family business in 2006. Inspired by the chance to shape India’s plastic waste ecosystem, Aditya sought to maximise the value of plastic waste while fostering circularity, and established Dalmia’s first PET Sorting and Washing Facility in Vapi. In pursuit of his goal of achieving meaningful and sustainable impact, Aditya strives to ensure that environmental ambitions are built into every aspect of Dalmia’s business, from its process that sees all elements of PET bottles recycled, to reducing the carbon footprint across Dalmia’s operations. Under Aditya’s leadership, Dalmia continues to scale its capacity and impact, with a vision to develop a holistic waste management ecosystem by streamlining and enhancing transparency, traceability, and accountability across the entire plastic value chain.

An engineer by trade, Aditya also drives the development and implementation of new and existing recycling technologies that support the company’s circularity process.

A firm believer that a robust circular economy should benefit every stakeholder in the supply chain, Aditya is also passionate about creating positive social impact and change for local communities and the informal sector. Under his direction, Dalmia in 2021 introduced the Dalmia Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm, which in early 2022 concluded a pilot project to support informal sector workers by helping them secure identity documents for insurance claims and providing access to digital financial services.
