A post graduate in Polymer Technology from IIT, New Delhi with 42 years of experience in various organizations in India and abroad. He has published a paper on PP/PE blends to reduce fibrillation of films. He holds two patents on PET/PTT and PET/PBT Polyester blends as engineering plastics and Fiber.

Sankar is an active member of CII and held positions as convener of panels and Karur chapter chairman.

He is the Founder and Chairman of Shree Renga Polyester Pvt. Ltd. in Karur since 2008 manufacturing recycled polyester fibre from post-consumer PET bottles. He started a garment unit in Karur manufacturing T-shirts from Recycled polyester fibre from scrap PET bottles and these garments are sold under the brand name “Ecoline Clothing”. Waist coat and Blazers are the new additions to his garment collections, which, he says, proved popular as the Prime Minister wore the same and addressed the parliament. He has developed products like Paver blocks using sludge waste, canvas cloth, professional bags and grow bags using recycled PET bottle fabrics and Vegan sheet.
