Punit Gopalka has worked in Europe for around 10 years, before returning to India in 2010 and joining Umasree Texplast Pvt Ltd, India as CEO. Umasree Texplast, has been involved in the manufacturing and export of PP Woven FIBC bags / Jumbo Bags since over 2 decades. He has over a decade's experience and know-how from beyond the Indian shores. He has been educated with Business Management degree from Strathclyde School of Business, Glasgow, Scotland, UK.

In 2022, he was elected as the President of FIBCA (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association, USA). FIBCA 41 years old association and the largest association of FIBC bags in the world with over 130 members, from 5 continents and 26 countries. He was the first international member to be elected as President of the Association. He also served Board of TBPA (Textile Bag & Packaging Association, USA), till 2023.
