Dr. Habbu was a Principal Scientist at the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune before joining Reliance’s Polyester Sector from 1994 until recently, serving in various technical functions having oversight spreading all plants/sites. In the later part, he was a mentor in Reliance’s Petrochemicals Sector on Sustainability & Circular Economy.

Presently, Dr. Habbu is:

• An Adjunct Professor at Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai.

• Involved with various industry associations for disseminating and establishing scientific understanding of PET and other Plastics. Dr. Habbu is also a part of expert groups in various Governmental bodies, such as:

- Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC)

- Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

- Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)

- Maharashtra Government’s expert group on Plastics
