PET SSP leaN - floor mounted design
The SSP leaN plant concept has been simplified for smaller vPET and rPET plants with a throughput up to 300 t/d.
rPET treated with POLYMETRIX SSP, which is at the end of the recycling process, are mainly characterized by precise and constant viscosity, extremely low residual content of impurities, carried over from past processes, which is essential to ensure the high quality of the PET even after several recycling runs.
Polymetrix SSP process fulfils the specific requirements of the packaging industry, the national safety regulations for food packaging, and even the strict quality requirements of global beverage brand owners.
The SSP leaN process starts with a combined process step of crystallization and preheating and can be operated with both spherical and cylindrical granules. After preheating, the PET pellets are conveyed hot, subjected to the SSP reaction and cooled. Nitrogen from the process is continuously cleaned by a catalytic combustion or an ethylene glycol gas scrubber. For rPET plants. a new type of guard bed has been integrated into the process gas purification to better eliminate foreign contaminants released in the recycled material during SSP process.
